Ariel Cohen is Senior Fellow at The Atlantic Council and Director, Center for Energy, Natural Resources and Geopolitics at the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security. He is indeed an Israeli representative and has said fantastically incoherent things in the past.

For example, he declared in 2012 that the Russians, Iranians and the Chinese “have blocked any diplomatic resolution and are still providing weapons to the Syrian regime.” Complete balderdash. It was the Russians who were actually seeking diplomatic resolution when Israel, the United States, and much of the West were saying that Assad had to go.
