Ben Carson: CNN’s Don Lemon Slam on White Men Is ‘Ridiculous’

Will Donald Trump Win the 2020 Election?

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson Thursday took issue with a CNN host’s contention that white men pose the greatest terror threat to American security, dismissing his claims as “ridiculous.”

“This is the most powerful nation that the world has ever known, a juggernaut moving toward prosperity for everybody, solving a lot of our problems,” Carson told Fox News’ “Fox and Friends.” “The only thing that can really destroy us, ourselves. You know, Jesus said it best, a house divided against itself cannot stand. It was echoed again by Abraham Lincoln. It’s absolutely true today.”

Earlier this week, CNN’s Don Lemon said, while discussing the shootings of two black people in Kentucky, that people need to “realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them. There is no travel ban on them.” He addressed the claims again on Wednesday and doubled down on them.

Carson also on Thursday addressed the efforts to combat homelessness among veterans, noting that many are traumatized and end up as homeless.

“What we have discovered is that just putting them in a house doesn’t necessarily solve their problem, or just giving them wrap around services, clinical services and things like that don’t work,” said Carson. “But, when you combine those things together, we have had a tremendous impact on reducing the homelessness.”

He added that 66 communities, across 33 states, have effectively ended veteran homelessness, but sometimes it is difficult because traumatized veterans don’t trust anyone.
