Current Democratic frontrunner and former Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to attend a fundraiser with an executive of a natural gas company the day after participating in CNN’s climate town hall.
Biden is attending two fundraisers in New York, one of which is cohosted by Andrew Goldman, the cofounder of Western LNG, according to The Intercept.

Western LNG is a Texas-based gas company whose flagship project is a production facility off the coast of British Columbia that provides Canadian natural gas to markets in northeast Asia.
Goldman previously served as an adviser to Biden when he was Delaware’s senator. Goldman also worked on Biden’s failed 2008 presidential campaign.
Biden’s 2020 campaign website promises a “clean energy revolution.”
“As president, Biden will lead the world to address the climate emergency and lead through the power of example, by ensuring the U.S. achieves a 100% clean energy economy and net-zero emissions no later than 2050,” the website states.
The Atlantic described Biden’s climate plan as a “Mini Green New Deal” that calls for $1.7 trillion in federal spending over 10 years.
Wednesday night’s CNN climate town hall will consist of 10 presidential candidates speaking about climate change and their proposals to overhaul the American economy to combat the threat.
Biden’s fellow presidential hopefuls have also unveiled radical approaches to address climate change. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) released a plan that adopts many of former candidate Gov. Jay Inslee’s (D., Wash.) approaches, and proposes $3 trillion in new spending over 10 years.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) released his own version of the Green New Deal, which he promises would create 20 million jobs through a $16.3 trillion spending package.
