CNN: Christine Blasey Ford Backed by 24 Classmates

Will Donald Trump Win the 2020 Election?

Two dozen women who went to high school with California psychology professor Christine Blasey Ford declared their support for her in the wake of Ford’s sex assault allegation against Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

The 24 classmates who attended Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Md., declared Ford is a woman of “honesty, integrity, and intelligence,” according to CNN, which reported it had obtained a copy of the missive.

The supporters added Ford’s decision to come forward is “not a partisan act” but rather an “act of civic duty,” CNN reported.

“As sexual assault violates a woman’s most fundamental rights, it must be considered a failure of character at any age,” the letter states, CNN reported, adding the supporters “represent all political parties.”

“We aren’t doing this for political reasons. We are standing with her regardless of what our political background is because we see this as a nonpartisan issue,” said Ford’s classmate Samantha Semerad Guerry, who signed the letter, CNN reported.

“For us, this is about women being taken seriously when they have to share a traumatic experience from their past.”

The letter also declares “we hold our elected officials responsible for conducting a more thorough and comprehensive review of the Supreme Court nominee.”

The Senate Judiciary Committee has scheduled a public hearing Monday to address the allegation against Kavanaugh. It remained unclear Tuesday if Ford would participate.
