On Thursday night, CNN held a “drive-in” town hall with Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden — an event that included some of Biden’s biggest fans in the media tossing him the weakest, most softball-like questions they could possibly come up with.
While CNN and other liberal mainstream media outlets devote a shocking amount of airtime to fact-checking President Donald Trump every time he speaks at a rally or a news conference, they treat Biden with kid gloves — to the point where they actually defended NOT fact-checking Biden during the town hall, even though he spouted bold lies and made a number of false or misleading statements about the 45th president.
Perhaps the most ridiculous pinocchio moment of the evening was when Biden falsely claimed that Trump could have prevented every single American death from Covid-19 — if only he would have taken the same actions that Biden, as president, would have.
“If the president had done his job, had done his job from the beginning, all the people would still be alive. All the people — I’m not making this up. Just look at the data. Look at the data,” Biden said.
And, no surprise, not only was that absurd claim not fact-checked by CNN’s resident fact-checker Daniel Dale, CNN’s complete lack of Biden fact-checking was defended in a CNN newsletter published later in the evening.

Their excuse? Biden isn’t subject to the same level of fact-checking because he’s not an “unprecedented liar” like the president.
“Trump has no allegiance to the truth and is shows every single time he is in front of the camera. He lies, misleads and promotes conspiracy theories at an unprecedented rate in modern American politics,” the newsletter stated, before asserting that Biden had “exponentially fewer inaccuracies than Trump has had at almost every single one of his unscripted events.”

Dale took an absolute beating on social media following the town hall after he pointed out that Biden fact-checked Trump by “uttering many consecutive coherent sentences, which Trump has repeatedly said Biden cannot do.”
The tweet generated a load of responses — even from Biden voters — begging Dale not to make “uttering coherent sentences” the new reason for casting a vote for Dementia Joe in the upcoming election.

Another Twitter user wrote, “The fact that you find Biden uttering coherent sentences so important that you have to tweet about it proves Trump’s point completely,” referencing Trump’s repeated criticism of Biden’s gaffes and incoherent mutterings that call into question his ability to lead the United States as president, should he actually win in November.
CNN has carried Biden on their back the moment they knew he was the nominee and have taken nothing less than extreme measures to protect the seemingly mentally fragile 77-year-old establishment Democrat from taking too much heat looking completely incompetent when the cameras are rolling.
Thursday night proved, once again, that CNN has no interest in reporting even the slightest shred of truth. Their only interest is making sure Trump is ejected from the White House in November, integrity be damned.
