Conway to Media Blame on Massacre: ‘Cut it Out’

Will Donald Trump Win the 2020 Election?

Presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway Monday called on politicians and members of the media to “cut it out” when seeking to blame President Donald Trump’s rhetoric for the weekend massacre at a Pittsburgh synagogue, following on the heels of last week’s pipe bomb mailings to several liberal leaders.

“He has denounced anti-Semitism in all forms,” Conway told Fox News’ “Fox and Friends.”

“He said we must rise above this evil. We have called for the death penalty for this murderer in Pittsburgh who gunned down 11 innocent people because of their faith.”

However, she said she couldn’t believe people over the weekend, “politicians pointing the finger, media making it about themselves.”

“Cut it out and recognize that this man went in there to, quote, ‘kill Jews,'” said Conway. “That has got to be the lesson. Certainly the lesson to my school aged children. People gunned down because of their Jewish faith.”

Trump, she said, is asking for unity, and “anybody who is saying he isn’t, isn’t listening.”

Conway also complained about the media, saying she would not repeat many of the insults that are made.

“The kind of rhetoric that is said day in and day out about this White House, the people who work here, the president, the vice president, their families, it’s got to stop,” she said. “

Conway, also appearing on CNN’s “New Day,” pointed out that Trump has been a “great friend” to both Israel and to “Jewish people worldwide.”

“He kept the promise of five presidents to move the embassy to Jerusalem and recognize it as the capital of Israel as Israelis do,” she said.
