Dems Really Are ‘Dead Broke’ Right Now

Thanks to having zero leadership or long-term strategy outside of race-baiting and crazy Russian conspiracy theories, the Dems are in big trouble heading into the critical 2018 midterm elections.

Now that America is only ten months away from the midterms, it should be noted that the reports of the Republican Party’s demise have been greatly exaggerated.

The Democrats refused to accept the will of the voters, who rejected Hillary Clinton like a rancid sack of garbage. And instead of working on taking badly needed corrective action, they chose to triple-down on everything that got them beat in 2016 — only with a vodka chaser.

The party put on their tinfoil hats and embraced wacko conspiracy theories about the Russians cheating Hillary out of the election, and further embraced the divisive poison of identity politics.

Following the monumental strategic blunder of the #SchumerShutdown and their refusal to work with President Trump on immigration reform, it is not looking good for the Dems, who gambled big but rolled snake eyes.

Now a new report should strike fear and dread into the hearts of the Democratic leadership that chose an incompetent doofus in Tom Perez to run the Democratic National Committee. That he has done…only he has run it right into the ground during his short tenure.

Not only are the cupboards bare, but the GOP is raking in money hand over fist.

Many political experts believe Democrats will experience a resurgence in the 2018 midterm elections. But if the Democratic National Committee doesn’t get its act together soon, candidates will have no money to run with.

What’s going on?

The DNC, which was plagued by a number of struggles in 2017, including leadership tensions and multiple political scandals, is “dead broke,” according to recent financial disclosures.

The numbers show:

  • In last reporting period of 2017, the DNC received $5.21 million, while spending $4.98 million.
  • At the close of 2017, the DNC had $6.53 million in cash on hand, while having $6.1 million in debt. Overall, subtracting debts, the DNC is working with just $422,582.
  • In total, the DNC raised $65.5 million in 2017, but spent $69.9 million.

The Intercept’s Ryan Grim noted on Twitter last week the DNC is in such poor financial health that the organization currently has to borrow money to make payroll and can’t afford to pay its rent. The DNC refuted this, but Grim explained the party would be operating in the red if it wasn’t borrowing to meet its basic needs.

The DNC tried to play-down the very poor financial situation by claiming 2017 was still a better than expected non-election fundraising year.

Still, the GOP, led by President Donald Trump, massively outpaced the DNC.

The disparity in fundraising only tells part of the tale.

Democrats may be on the brink of a doomsday scenario after polling showed that Trump knocked it out of the park with his State of the Union address.

Then for an additional twist of the knife:

Things are only going to get worse for the Democrats, too.

The result of those tax cuts that they did everything to oppose are only starting to find their way onto the paychecks of working Americans. The determination of Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee led by Rep. Devin Nunes is eroding the Russian collusion hoax, and the party has aligned itself with illegal aliens instead of Americans.

This will be set in stone if the Dems force another shutdown of the government over DACA.

That “blue wave” was always just a fantasy, and it is a growing possibility that voters will reject the lies, conspiracy theories, and politics of racial and gender divisiveness and bomb the Democrats back to the Stone Age come November.
