Democrats better get their psychiatrists on speed dial if Sean Spicer is correct.

The former White House press secretary just gave them some rough news that they do not want to hear.

“I think we’ve got a greater and greater chance of keeping the House,” he said on Fox News on Monday. “It may be slim, but I feel good about it.”

He said that he sees the Republicans keep a “slim” majority in the House, but his prediction for the Senate was more optimistic, The Washington Examiner reported.

“I feel really good about the Senate,” he said. “I think we can be as high as 56 seats, 55, 56 seats on election night.”

Spicer said Republicans are doing better than many think, and are finding competitive candidates in areas that are supposed to be easy wins for Democrats.

“There are races that we didn’t think we’d have a chance at, and now we’ve gone from being double-digit races to slim single-digit races,” he said.

“The number of people who are voting early is so much higher, and it’s from both parties, but Republican enthusiasm continues to get jacked up,” Spicer added.

Not everyone agrees with the former press secretary.

In fact, the majority disagree. Prognosticators like FiveThirtyEight believe that the Democrats will take the House and Republicans will keep a majority in the Senate, but not by a ton.

And we remember how spot on those polls were on Election Day 2016.

Ignore the polls. It’s the one thing Democrats and Republicans agree on.
