In Wide Ranging Interview Jim Jordan Makes His 2024 Choice Known, Defends Second Amendment Rights

Conservative Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) announced on Friday that he is “100% for President Trump” in the 2024 presidential election, despite the legal challenges facing the former president.

Speaking with Fox News Digital before addressing the National Rifle Association convention, Jordan praised Trump for being the only president to deliver on his promises despite facing opposition from the political establishment.

Jordan emphasized his support for Trump when asked about the intensifying Republican presidential primary contest, while also expressing his appreciation for the other current and potential candidates.

He mentioned his recent conversation with former Vice President Mike Pence and his friendship with Governor Ron DeSantis, both of whom he considers great individuals.

However, Jordan reiterated that he is fully committed to supporting Trump.

As one of Trump’s staunchest defenders, Jordan has been vocal against the bogus felony falsification of business records charges brought against the former president by New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

He has initiated an inquiry into Bragg’s efforts, including issuing subpoenas for documents related to the investigation.

In response, Bragg has sued Jordan, accusing him of attempting to intimidate the prosecution.

Jordan also discussed the importance of Republicans winning elections to protect Americans’ Second Amendment rights from Democratic erosion efforts.

He highlighted the significance of the Second Amendment’s position beside the First Amendment and criticized the left for continually attempting to chip away at gun rights.

He cited concerns over red flag laws and the ATF’s pistol brace rule as examples of Democratic encroachments.

When Democrats propose meeting in the middle on gun legislation, Jordan argued that their idea of compromise is to take away firearms from law-abiding citizens.

He emphasized that the Constitution fundamentally disagrees with the Democratic position on gun control.

While acknowledging the tragedies of recent shootings in Louisville, Kentucky, and Nashville, Tennessee, Jordan maintained that disarming law-abiding Americans is not the solution.

Lastly, Jordan revealed that the Republican-controlled House of Representatives plans to pass a resolution blocking a new rule from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) that would ban pistol stabilizing braces.
