Dr. Anthony Fauci dismissed a question from CNN anchor Brianna Keilar about Fauci adjusting a microphone during a press conference, telling her to “get real here.”

“Not everybody in the United States should take a test. I have no symptoms. There’s no reason for me to take a test. If I’m in a situation where I’m at a higher risk, I will take a test,” Fauci said Sunday morning on State of the Union. “The picture you showed about the microphone, let’s get real here.”

“My putting my two fingers to get the microphone down isn’t that bad. I don’t think we should make something of that,” Fauci added.

Keilar mentioned Fauci adjusted a microphone with President Trump, who the White House said tested negative for the coronavirus, and asked the infectious diseases expert if he planned to take a coronavirus test.

Fauci dismissed the question and added that social distancing and limiting physical contact between people is one of the most important focuses right now.

Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and a member of the coronavirus task force, has become the face of the federal government’s public response to the coronavirus pandemic.

He also said Sunday morning that Americans should be taking the pandemic seriously, stressing that, “There are going to be people who are young who are going to wind up getting seriously ill.”
