Jussie Smollett got off scot free in one of the most egregious miscarriages of Justice in the history of Chicago but he is not out of the woods yet.
The “Empire” actor, who continues to portray himself as a victim while millions laugh at him, could still face federal charges, The New York Post reported.
Jussie Smollett could still face federal charges as the FBI and the US Postal Inspection Service are continuing their probe into a threatening letter Smollett might have sent to himself, a report said.
Federal investigators continue to probe whether Smollett — who was cleared of state charges on Tuesday — delivered the racially charged letter to the “Empire” office in Chicago, according to ABC News.
A source told the network that the dismissal of the state’s case has not impacted the federal probe…
The FBI has remained tight-lipped throughout the duration of the Smollett investigation, even when he was still considered a victim.
However, the Chicago Police Department said the FBI assisted them in their investigation and all of the evidence in the case was being processed by the FBI.
The Chicago Police union still wants the Department of Justice to conduct a federal investigation into why a former aide to former first lady Michelle Obama was texting the state’s attorney on behalf of Smollett, The Hill reported.
Should he face federal charges?
“We’re doubling down on that. We want to make sure that the Justice Department takes a very hard look with that case and what went on today,” Chicago Fraternal Order of Police president Kevin Graham said in an interview with CNN.
Graham’s statements come after the news network obtained text messages that show Tina Tchen, Obama’s former chief of staff, talking to State’s Attorney Kim Foxx about what police said was an attempt to “diver[t] the case from Chicago police department to a federal investigation.”
“Spoke to Superintendent Johnson. I convinced him to (r)each out to FBI to ask that they take over the investigation. He is reaching out now and will get back to me shortly,” Foxx told Tchen in one message.
The news comes after Chicago police reacted with shock and dismay Tuesday after it was revealed that charges against Smollett at the state level had been completely dropped with an understanding that the actor would complete community service.
“I don’t know what’s unusual for the state’s attorney but we found out about when you all did,” Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said at a press conference. “Prosecutors have their discretion of course, we still have to work with the state’s attorneys office. We’ll have conversations after this.”
Federal prosecutors should try Jussie Smollett for mail fraud
He faked a hate crime using the US Postal service which is a federal crime
If a Trump supporter said he was attacked by liberals and lied to police for weeks, charges would not have been dropped
This is a outrage

Absolute corruption from a Cook County prosecutor. Is anyone surprised? Kim Foxx is making a mockery of justice this morning. The evidence against Jussie Smollett is incredible and he could very well still face federal charges. The police union is going to be very angry today.

There is video evidence, evidence of payment, witness testimony, evidence not publicly disclosed & more than enough reason to hammer Jussie Smollett and the charges are suddenly dropped and the case sealed?
Time for a Federal investigation.https://t.co/Mu3No6SJ4I

We also need the records of George Soros’s donations to prosecutor Kim Foxx and of Smollett family friend Tina Tchen’s phone call to Foxx. https://t.co/As2CRk1UcH

Apparently, it’s white privilege to have a fair legal system. Tina Tchen (Asian female) asked Smollett prosecutor Kim Foxx (black female) to go easy on Jussie Smollett (black male). And she did.https://t.co/91snkJTh1F

Here’s video of Jussie Smollett dancing on stage with Michelle Obama at one of the college events he did with her…
