Former Vice President Joe Biden, who has mostly stayed within the confines of his basement compound while he runs a campaign to take the White House from President Donald Trump, has offered reporters very little question-asking time compared to the president.

So, one would assume that when the 77-year-old gaffe machine is actually in a position to answer press questions while out on the campaign trail, a reporter with even a shred of integrity would hammer him with the questions that matter — the questions that the American public need to hear the former vice president answer.

That’s especially true with the recent bombshell concerning his son Hunter Biden’s shady, possibly illegal deals in China and Ukraine. Or maybe even pivot to back to the court packing controversy, which he has still refused to talk about at length.

But instead, as The Blaze reported, when Biden was spotted out in public, a reporter hit him with the softest, dumbest question one could possibly ask.

“Mr. Biden! Mr. Biden! What flavor did you get?” the reporter asked, concerned about what flavor of milkshake he ordered.

I mean, really?

The question came as Biden was spotted at popular Durham, North Carolina burger and shake restaurant called Cookout. The senior Biden was there with his granddaughter, ordering milkshakes and shaking hands in a state that he desperately needs to win in order to have a chance at unseating Trump.

The blown opportunity to ask a substantive question — literally anything other than inquiring about milkshake flavors — was criticized by reporters from all over the mediasphere, even from left-leaning publications.

“‘What flavor did you get?’ – you don’t need to ask the candidate this question. Find out from staff. Two weeks out, a party nominee should be asked more substantive questions. This isn’t the first Iowa trip!” New York Magazine and HuffPost contributor Yashar Ali tweeted.

“There has never been a presidential candidate less scrutinized that the 2020 Democratic nominee,” The Hill reporter Joe Concha tweeted in response.

Making matters worse — and even more embarrassing for the reporter who blew it — is that it was reported by CBS political correspondent Ed O’Keefe that the Biden camp will likely call an extended lid and won’t be heard from again until Thursday’s highly anticipated second presidential debate.

Unfortunately, the continued softball questions from a vast majority of the mainstream media shouldn’t be a surprise, as they’ve spent nearly an entire week purposely ignoring what is shaping up to be one of the biggest political scandals in modern American history with regard to Hunter Biden’s corrupt dealings abroad — dealings that the senior Biden — otherwise known as “the big guy” — might have directly benefited from while in office.

If the roles were reversed and one of the president’s children was in the same exact situation as Hunter Biden, believe me, Trump would have already been forced to drop out of his campaign, as all levels of mainstream media would have joined forces and performed their actual investigative jobs.
