Socialist superstar and Democratic party “it” girl Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is at it again, reading her press clippings and thinking she’s more than she is, a freshman congresswoman with only a few days on the job.
This time she chose to pick a fight with CNN host and analyst Chris Cizilla.
The whole thing started when she told CNN host Anderson Cooper that too many people are concerned with being factually correct than with being morally right.
“There’s a lot of people more concerned about being precisely, factually, and semantically correct than about being morally right,” @AOC says in response to criticism that she’s made factual errors. https://t.co/sKf3sHl9F6 pic.twitter.com/xKc2eB7GEk

This statement was meant of course to excuse her various gaffes, because she’s morally right.
Then CNN’s Chris Cizilla jumped in to gently school Ms. Ocasio-Cortez on how other people see her claim:
“I think that there’s a lot of people more concerned about being precisely, factually, and semantically correct than about being morally right.” — @AOC https://t.co/jKoBUDAa9v

Of course, being a socialist superstar and all, she immediately responded and went on the warpath:
“And whenever I make a mistake, I say, “OK, this was clumsy.” and then I restate what my point was. But it’s— it’s not the same thing as— as the President lying about immigrants. It’s not the same thing, at all.” – the next sentence
Cover the quote in context, thanks. https://t.co/e5zHw4uHaw

AOC’s acolytes went nuts, and went after Cizilla, as you’d expect:
Chris Cillizza’s very slippery slope on journalistic integrity
— nate (@someguynate) January 7, 2019
Now that’s funny! As if a CNN host had any integrity left.
Unfortunately, @cnn doesn’t hold @CillizzaCNN to any standards. @brianstelter

oh look, cherry picking quotes and ignoring the context. How surprising.

If ever you need to disprove the myth meritocracy, look no further than anything written by Chris cillizza, then his salary

There are many more like this but you get the idea. The comments are a cesspool of nastiness and hatred.
Can’t wait to see how this, and the ridicule Anderson Cooper is garnering for his softball interview with Ocasio-Cortez impacts their coverage of her.
That said, the message is clear.
Dare call out AOC, or anyone on the far left, and expect to be brutally attacked.
The new Democratic party, keeping it classy.
