The people who live in Europe have lived with socialism for so long that many of them, law enforcement included, have gone practically insane.

The insanity is particular bad in jolly old England, the cradle of the American republic and inspiration for many of the freedoms we enjoy today, where freedom of speech is now just a distant memory.

In the latest egregious example, police in England have warned members of the public they could be prosecuted for making fun of a convicted drug dealer’s haircut on social media, The Independent reports.

It all started when police in South Wales used Facebook in an appeal to find a convicted drug dealer who breached his parole conditions.

The local authorities shared the man’s mugshot which appeared to show a receding hairline and other oddities, along with an appeal to help police locate and arrest him.

After his hairstyle attracted a ton of jokes and mocking comments, police then warned residents to knock it off or they could face prosecution.

“Please remember that harassing, threatening and abusing people on social media can be against the law,” Gwent Police warned Facebook users.

“Our advice is to be as careful on social media as you would in any other form of communication.

”If you say something about someone which is grossly offensive or is of an indecent, obscene or menacing character, then you could be investigated by the police.”

Later, after the story broke, police in England added:

“Gwent Police would like to thank everyone who has liked, commented and shared our post over the last few days – and welcome to our new international followers!

“We’re really grateful to everyone who is assisting us in locating Jermaine Taylor, and we must admit a few of these comments have made us laugh.

“However, when the line is crossed from being funny to abusive, we do have to make sure we are responsible and remind people to be careful about what they write on social media. Thankfully, in the 87,000 comments, this is a very small number and the majority are doing a great job helping us day to day!”

Can you believe that? Police in England are actually warning people to be careful about what they write on social media.

Authorities in England must have solved every other type of crime and social problem, given their current desire to go after citizens for mocking a convicted drug dealer and common criminal.

To bad the English no longer believe in freedom of speech. The truly scary thing is this is what Democrats and socialists want here in America.
