Trump Downplays China Virus Risk to United States

Will Donald Trump Win the 2020 Election?

President Donald Trump said officials believe the coronavirus outbreak is “all under control” in the United States.

His comments came Thursday during a visit to an auto supply manufacturing plant in Warren, Michigan. They were detailed in a report by CNBC.

“We are working very closely with China and other countries, and we think it’s going to have a very good ending for us, that I can assure you,” he said.

Trump added that the virus is a “very small problem in this country.” The president made his remarks after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed the first person-to-person transmission of the virus in the U.S.

He said officials are convinced “we have it all under control.”
